John XXIII Gallery
In the year 2000, an art gallery was established at The Basilica under the patronage of Blessed Pope John XXIII. For centuries the Church has been a great patron of the arts because they have served the Church as a primary teaching tool. Art not only speaks to its religious story, it also speaks about its place and time of origin and about the people who created it and the people for whom it was created. Thus, the art from around the world, which is on exhibit in our gallery, reveals the one story of Jesus Christ. Yet it is told in so many different visual languages.
Gallery hours:
Sundays: 7:30am-8:00pm
Saturdays: 10:00am-6:30pm
Other times by appointment.
