Visiting Ministries
Eucharist Ministry to the Homebound
The celebration of the Eucharist is for us the source and summit of our faith tradition. Illness or injury need not limit that celebration. Bringing the Eucharist to the homebound has been a part of our tradition since the very early Church. Please contact Cathy at 612.317.3474 to arrange for a minister to visit.
Care Center Ministry
Care Center Ministry is The Basilica's way of reaching out to bring the face of Jesus to those who can no longer come to The Basilica. By visiting them in their skilled care residences, we include and welcome them into the Body of Christ. By bringing the Eucharist to others we live out our baptismal call, and share a mutual exchange of faith. In this faith-filled exchange, the whole Body of Christ is strengthened.
Various ways to help include making one-on-one visits, making Communion visits, or assisting with setup or music for Communion Services or Mass at several are care centers each month. Training and support is provided. To get involved in visiting ministries, please contact Cathy at 612.317.3474.
