Life
Christian Life is characterized by a radical commitment to right relationships, peace, justice, and reconciliation. Core to life in a Christian community is an intentional recognition, care, and response to the needs of the poor, the powerless, and those systemically excluded from the community. Through mutuality and solidarity, we seek to assure that all have the means to meet their basic needs, and that no one is excluded.
There are two components to Christian Life: the Personal Life and the Public Life.
The Personal Life represents the development of personal spirituality and the nurturing of community through Christian hospitality and right relationships. It includes the way that we relate with one another, our ability to embrace diversity and resolve conflict, and the challenge to use our gifts and develop leadership.
The Public Life invites us to be disciples in the world and live out our call to faithful citizenship. Guided by the Gospel and Catholic social teaching, we seek to shape a society that is more respectful of human life and dignity, and more committed to justice and peace, with a special concern for the most vulnerable.
