Supporting the Needs of the Vulnerable

The needs of the vulnerable in our community are a priority for The Basilica of Saint Mary and our St. Vincent de Paul Ministry (SVdP) is an essential component to this response. Through The Basilica’s St. Vincent de Paul Ministry, we seek to offer caring and compassionate assistance to those facing significant challenges. This work is done heart to heart and built through relationships based in dignity and respect for all.

Over the past year, SVdP has discovered ways to adjust, adapt and pivot in order to continue to serve those in need. SVdP supports people experiencing homelessness, families facing unemployment and recent immigrants to Minnesota. Our SVdP volunteers have continued relationships with students at Minneapolis College who face homelessness or generational poverty giving them a much needed support system. With new protocols in place, volunteers have continued offering meals to the hungry. We have also developed online outreach that provides rent assistance and other basic care that used to be offered in-person. These are just a few examples of the life changing service that SVdP provides to our greater community.

I offer my sincere gratitude to everyone who has already supported The Basilica’s St. Vincent de Paul Ministry. Your gift has made this transformative work possible. If you have a recurring gift to SVdP in place, that commitment will automatically roll over in May and continue. If you would like to increase or change your gift, you can contact Nicole Adams Blume in the development office. Thank you for your faithful generosity that offers hope to those who need it most.

If you haven’t done so already, please consider establishing a recurring gift to our St. Vincent de Paul ministry. One hundred percent of your donation goes directly to people in need. To make a gift commitment, please go online to mary.org/give or contact Nicole Adams Blume in the development office. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors and lift our community.
