Novena Day 3

Day Three
For the Preservation and Protection of Our World
St. Kateri Tekakwitha, Guardian of the Land, Pray for Us!
Through the intercession of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, Patron Saint of integral ecology and the environment we pray for our beautiful planet which is so desperate for healing and protection.
In the name of the Father
and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit.
Our Father,
who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'
For the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory are yours, now and for ever.
Hail Mary,
full of Grace,
the Lord is with thee,
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
A Reading from the Book of Leviticus (25: 1-7)
The LORD said to Moses on Mount Sinai: Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land that I am giving you, let the land, too, keep a Sabbath for the LORD. For six years you may sow your field, and for six years prune your vineyard, gathering in their produce. But during the seventh year the land shall have a Sabbath of complete rest, a Sabbath for the LORD, when you may neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard. The aftergrowth of your harvest you shall not reap, nor shall you pick the grapes of your untrimmed vines. It shall be a year of rest for the land. While the land has its Sabbath, all its produce will be food to eat for you yourself and for your male and female slave, for your laborer and the tenant who live with you, and likewise for your livestock and for the wild animals on your land.
The Word of the Lord.
Please observe a moment of silent reflection…
Let us pray:
Ever-living God,
creator and sustainer of all that is,
we pray for the protection and preservation of our beautiful world,
we beg for your mercy and forgiveness where we have failed to be just stewards,
we ask for guidance in restoring the harm we have done,
and we plead for the grace to live in harmony with all of creation,
sharing earth’s resources responsibly and justly.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
And as we continue our journey toward Election Day, let us pray:
All-powerful God,
inspire us to be faithful followers of Jesus,
send down your Holy Spirit to form our conscience,
and grant us the wisdom and strength to always act according to your will.
Give us the courage to build bridges where walls have divided,
bestow on us the grace  to bind all wounds of fear and anger,
and weave us together into the people you call your own.
Bless us with leaders who speak the truth and who act with justice,
bless us with leaders who are filled with wisdom and who govern with compassion,
and bless us with leaders who are committed to the common good and the healing of our broken world.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Through the intercession of St. Kateri Tekakwitha may we be inspired to speak and act in ways that bring healing to our planet.
St. Kateri Tekakwitha, pray for us.
May the Lord bless + us,
protect us from all evil
and bring us to everlasting life.
