Novena Day 6

Day Six
For those who suffer due to COVID19 or any other illness
(St. Teresa of Calcutta)
Through the intercession of Saint Teresa of Calcutta who showed us how to care for others, we pray for all people who are sick, especially for those suffering due to COVID 19.
In the name of the Father
and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit.
Our Father,
who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'
For the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory are yours, now and for ever.
Hail Mary,
full of Grace,
the Lord is with thee,
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
A Reading from the Letter of James (5:14-15)
Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint [him] with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
The Word of the Lord.
Please observe a moment of silent reflection…
Let us pray:
Ever-loving God
succor of the sick and solace of the sorrowful,
we pray for an end to the COVID 19,
for all those suffering due to the pandemic,
for first responders and healthcare providers
for those who are searching for a vaccine and a cure.
We pray for those who are suffering from other diseases,
especially for those whose treatment has been postponed due to COVID 19.
We pray for all those who are living and dying alone,
unable to be visited or held by their loved ones,
and for the medical personnel tending to their needs,
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
And as we continue our journey toward Election Day, let us pray:
All-powerful God,
inspire us to be faithful followers of Jesus,
send down your Holy Spirit to form our conscience,
and grant us the wisdom and strength to always act according to your will.
Give us the courage to build bridges where walls have divided,
bestow on us the grace  to bind all wounds of fear and anger,
and weave us together into the people you call your own.
Bless us with leaders who speak the truth and who act with justice,
bless us with leaders who are filled with wisdom and who govern with compassion,
and bless us with leaders who are committed to the common good and the healing of our broken world.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Through the intercession of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, may we be inspired to speak and act in ways that encourage those who are sick and support our healthcare professionals and other essential workers.
Saint Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us.
May the Lord bless + us,
protect us from all evil
and bring us to everlasting life.
