Hospitality is integrated into all that we do and are.
All members and ministries actively reach out to welcome the friend and the stranger.
We are a gathering place for people of all faiths and races, a site for civic events, and center for the arts, and a refuge for the poor.
Ushers/greeters set the tone; current members make room for visitors and newcomers.
After worship, head downstairs for coffee and doughnuts. Visit the welcome desk for current information about parish happenings or to pick up a member registration packet.
We personally welcome our new parishioners each month with a dinner or brunch.
Visitors to our parish office receive a warm welcome seven days a week. Those who are hungry receive a sandwich and cup of hot coffee.
As America's first basilica and a historic landmark, we welcome pilgrims and tour groups.
Lenten Soup Suppers
On Ash Wednesday we serve a simple meal of soup and bread. Lower level of the church, 6:00 pm. The meal is free - donations gratefully accepted.
Every August we celebrate the Solemn Dedication of The Basilica of Saint Mary with an ice cream social on our lawn. The ice cream and activities are free - donations gratefully accepted.
Basilica Parish Picnic
Every year on the second Sunday in September we celebrate The Basilica community and all we have to offer with our annual Parish Picnic and Ministry Fair. Lunch and all activities are free - donations gratefully accepted.
