A Pilgrimage with St. Martin de Porres, Patron Saint of Racial Reconciliation
November 6, 2021
St. Martin de Porres said, “I only cure you. It is God who heals you.”
As an opportunity to seek God’s healing for ourselves and for our community, there will be a pilgrimage on Saturday, November 6th to honor the great saint and to seek his intercession days after his feast of November 3rd.
The pilgrimage will begin in prayer at Ascension Catholic Church at 10:30am. Pilgrims will walk to the former site of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church on the Northside for reflection, then they will conclude the pilgrimage in prayer at the Basilica of Saint Mary from 12:15-12:30pm.
Pre-register for an optional pancake breakfast at Ascension starting at 9:30am, and an optional lunch served at the Basilica from 12:30-1:30pm. A bus will shuttle pilgrims back to Ascension. The pilgrimage is free to attend, and it is sponsored by Ascension Catholic Church, the Basilica of Saint Mary, Catholic Community Foundation of MN, Modern Catholic Pilgrim, and the University of St. Thomas.
