Safely Celebrating Mass
For the safety and well-being of those who come to The Basilica, but have not yet been vaccinated, we ask that people continue to wear a facemask while in The Basilica.
The City of Minneapolis still requires face masks for indoor gatherings. Archbishop Hebda's dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass continues.
Please consider refraining from in-person Mass attendance if you:
1.) Experienced or have been near someone who experienced: cough, cold, flu, fever of 100°F +, shortness of breath, sore throat, or a loss of taste or smell.
2.) Have underlying medical conditions, including but not limited to: asthma, diabetes, heart conditions, pregnancy, severe obesity, a compromised immune system, diseases of the lungs, kidneys, or liver, or are receiving cancer treatment.
3.) Live in a nursing home, long-term care, or congregant living facility.
4.) Are age 65 or older, particulaly if unvaccinated.
For services with 50 or more expected attendees, including Sunday Masses, we ask people to pre-register but will also welcome those who show up without pre-registering.
For services with less than 50 expected attendees, pre-registration and check-in is not required. This includes weekday Masses at 7am and 12 noon, Vespers, and other smaller liturgies.
All liturgy leaflets are available at www.mary.org/leaflet to facilitate your participation in our prayer.
Please note, we are not able to distribute the paper leaflets at this time due to COVID-19 protocols. Please bring a mobile device with you to Mass to access the leaflet electronically.
