Greatest Need Opportunities

Our current opportunites of greatest need include:

AIM: Access and Inclusion Ministry
AIM is looking for people with lived experiences with a barrier blocking or impeding worship, service, learning, or community life who will work with us to continue to educate our community.

Basilica Fund Ambassadors
Please consider volunteering to become a Basilica Fund Ambassador from mid-September through mid-November. The Development Team will provide training and all the information you need to offer opportunities to parishioners to support The Basilica Fund.  For information, contact Sue at 612.17.3421 or email

Emmaus Listening
Emmaus Listening Ministers are highly trained with active listening skills.

Finance Committee
This is a three-year term leadership  position, with the option to serve a second three-year term. Candidates should have a background in accounting, banking, audit, investments, budgeting or Human Resources. Email Audra Johnson for more information.

Funeral Hospitality
Be on a call list to help with set up, providing hospitality by serving food/beverages to funeral guests, and then cleaning up afterward. No cooking required, weekday availability is helpful.

Graphic Designer
Help produce the award-winning BASILICA magazine twice a year.

Hennepin Connections Mentoring
Mentors students at Minneapolis Community & Technical College who have experienced homelessness or poverty, to provide support and encouragement to reach personal, academic, and career goals. Training provided in June/July for mentors to start in the Fall school year.

Immigrant Support Ministry
Circle of Welcome Teams are groups of four mentors working directly with each refugee or asylee family to help them adjust to and learn to navigate life in their new community. 

Liturgical Ministry
We especially need Acolytes (altar servers) at 7:30am and 11:30am Sunday Masses or Ministers of Hospitality (ushers) at all Masses.

Volunteers are needed to livestream our Sunday and Weekday Masses. 

Prisioners or Patients Task Force
Mentor program for those leaving prison with mental health concerns.  

RCIA sponsors
Sponsor an adult who is inquiring about becoming Catholic through RCIA.  Sponsors walk on the journey with the inquirer by attending Mass or volunteering with a candidate, praying for the candidate, and meeting on a regular basis throughout the year for coffee and conversation.  (Note: our process has changed.  Sponsors are no longer required to attend weekly in-person sessions with the candidate).

Rectory Receptionist or Rectory Hospitality
The first point of contact for those visiting or calling the parish office; Shifts open are on Monday morning, Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday afternoon, or Wednesday evening.
