The Basilica School building was constructed in 1913, actually opening for students nearly a year before the church was ready to hold its first Mass. Designed by architect Emmanuel Masqueray, the school is included in the National Register of Historic Places designation conferred in 1975 on The Basilica church and campus.
The School was re-roofed in 2013 and received additional improvements in 2014 including a new kitchen and a heating and cooling system.
The Basilica School is currently leased to Child Garden Montessori. Child Garden is a private Montessori school for children from the ages of six weeks through six years. The school offers an all-day program as a service to working parents.
