Personal Stewardship

Care for ourselves in mind, body and spirit

Each of our lives is a gift from God. By caring for ourselves tenderly and with vigilance, we can serve God and one another.

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.
We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
~ Teilhard de Chardin

How do we care for ourselves?

By improving our healthful practices. Change is a developmental process and it all starts with You.  To God every person is precious, and caring for ourselves in mind, body, and spirit is in accordance with God's will.

Pray for personal health

Father, give us
Wisdom to perceive you,

Intellect to understand you,

Diligence to seek you,

Patience to wait for you,

Eyes to behold you,

A heart to meditate on you,

And a life to proclaim you,

Through the power of the spirit
of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 ~ Saint Benedict (480-547)

Children's Prayer

Creator God,
You made us wonderful and holy.

Teach me…
Teach me to take care of my body which helps me to work and play.

Teach me to feed my minds by learning new things, so that I may help others.

Teach me to listen with my heart, so I may share love and see the love that others give me.

Personal reflection

I have been given the ability to make healthful changes to better serve God and benefit myself and those around me. How can I actively care for myself? Remember, it’s OK to say, “It’s all about me!”

“For I know the plans I have in mind for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare, not for woe! plans to give you a future full of hope. When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you.  When you look for me, you will find me.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
